About Haystack
My wife and I led a team on a short-term mission trip to Albania where my brother and a number of other missionary families were living. Our central purpose was to run a vacation Bible school for missionary kids so that the adults were freed up to attend a much needed annual conference. During our stay we were able to spend time with many missionaries, hearing their stories and the stories of other missionary friends they know. My wife and I were weighed down by the heartfelt need of so many missionaries that lacked contact from their supporting churches.

Mission Statement
Haystack Ministry is a ministry of 1st Baptist Church of Lodi, California. We are committed to partnering with our missionaries that we help send around the U.S. and around the world. As a “sending church” we see the need to provide more than financial support, but rather partner with our missionaries through regular communication, prayer, encouragement, and care. Many well intended churches too often send and then neglect their missionaries, perhaps feeling that financial support is all the missionary needs. Believing that they are a part of our local body, we want to partner with their ministry and family needs, for their spiritual health, success, and longevity in God’s calling on their lives.
